6 Holistic Remedies To Get You Through This Cold and Flu Season

Take for instance we woke up this morning – we knew to open eyes, feed ourselves, use our legs, take a deep breath …
We didn’t need any help besides what we were given on that day. We just are.
This morning after battling the flu over the last few days, I stopped to think about how something so simple like breathing is. I think about what we feed our bodies and what unnatural elements that I consume are doing more harm than good. I guess this is reason I’ve been taking more conscious steps for a natural approach to living.
When comes to home remedies I believe that herbal medicines can help streghnthen the body, now this isn’t to say that if you’re extremely sick with the flu you should NOT go to doctor and get medicine, because you should.
But if there are little daily wholesome steps we can take to make us healthy without any harmful side affect than why not try them?
So I compiled a mini list of a Herbal Survival List to get you through this Cold and Flu Season and alleviate some of those symptoms without the chemicals.
Famous in Chinese, Indian Ayurvedic, Greek herbal medicine the plant is used for so many different healing properties.
With its sweet yet woody scene, its my favorite ways to clear my sinuses and relax my body.

2. Raw Garlic
Raw garlic has been my go to for all of my cold and flu remedies.
The little white bulb is filled with vitamin c, enzymes and minerals such as sulphur and selenium, a helping healing aid to restore the body to its natural chemistry.
Eat a clove every 2 to 4 hours to knock out your cold and flu symptoms.
For a soar throat slice the clove and suck on It for 15 minutes like an Italian lasanger.
If you can’t handle the heat…. don’t get out of the kitchen yet, just add a bit of honey to sweeten up the situation.
Stop feeling so sour and drink a piping hot cup of lemon water throughout your day. Take two lemons, boil them in 3 cups of water for about 10-15 minutes. Let them reduce to about 2, take a fork and smash those little suckers till the pulp plops out.
I must warn you, the taste isn’t that pleasant but all the lemons vitamins c and detoxifying enzymes are hidden in its core.
Add some ginger and turmeric for an added boost in anti inflammatory and allow the citrus to give a little extra morning boost.
4. Black Cummin Seed Oil
Black cumin seed oil lays thick layer of smooth pepper on the tongue with healing properties traveling from southwest Asia with the taste of India and the middle east.
I use this supplement daily as maintenance for my overall health. I take a tbsp first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and allow the liquid to sit under my tongue and absorb into the blood stream for a few minutes to kickstart my immune system.
The oils main healing property is thymoquinone, a compound with antioxidant properties. Proved as an anti- cancer, anti inflammatory, helping fight asthma, dizziness, cough and fever.
